Mom: "Oh, no!" (exclaimed Mom when she heard the wail from upstairs.)
媽媽:(聽到從樓上傳來的哭聲,大喊 )“不好了!”

Timothy (said at once ): "I bet Diane broke something again, she's always dropping things!“
Timothy(立刻說):“我打賭Diane又打破了什麼東西，她總是掉落東西!”

"Diane," Mom called, "what's the problem?"
媽(叫喚著): “Diane,有什麼問題嗎?“
[There was no reply, so Mom headed up the stairs with Timothy following along behind. ]
[沒有反應，所以媽走上樓,Timothy跟在後頭]

[As they reached the top step, Diane appeared at Mom's bedroom door.]
[當他們走到樓上時，Diane出現在媽媽的房間門口.]

Timothy(he asked,wrinkled his nose) : “What‘s that nasty smell?”
Timothy(皺著鼻子問):“那是什麼難聞的味道啊?”

Diane(Her eyes filled with tears): "I was dusting your room like you asked me to, Mom. “
Diane(眼中含著淚水):“媽,我在妳的房間,照妳叫我做的，想要撣掉灰塵.”

Diane (explained) :”When I was moving things on the dresser, I accidentally knocked over your perfume-that bottle Aunt Carol gave you”
Diane(解釋):“當我在梳妝台上要移動東西的時候，我意外打翻Carol阿姨送給妳的香水”

Diane: "It didn't break, but I guess it wasn't shut tight, and some spilled out. I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't mean to do it.”
Diane:”它沒破，但我猜因為沒蓋緊,有些香水溢出來.對不起,媽,我不是故意的.“

Mom (said gently): "Never mind, it was an accident.”
媽溫柔地說:“不要緊,那是不小心發生的意外”

Timothy (held his nose): "Ugh! Something smells awful!" he exclaimed.
Timothy(夾住鼻子叫著說):“噁!什麼東西好難聞喔!”

“Does not!” replied Diane.(才不難聞)
"Does too!" insisted Timothy. "What is it?”(Timothy堅持說:真難聞,是什麼呢?)

Diane(replied): "Like I said, the perfume spilled-and it's a good smell, not a bad one," [She grinned at her brother.]
Diane:”如我所說,這香水灑出來了-而且那是好的味道,不是不好的味道![她向弟弟咧嘴一笑]

Diane:"In Bible club last week, my teacher said Christians should always spread a nice, pleasing fragrance. You, too.”
Diane:”在上星期的查經班,我的老師說基督徒要總是散發一種又好又令人愉悅的香氣,你也要如此喔!“

Timothy looked horrified. "Not me! I'm not gonna wear stuff like that!" he exclaimed. "No way!”
Timothy(嚇到的樣子,喊叫):“不是我!我才不要用這種東西!才不要!”

 Mom (laughed): "I'm sure Diane's teacher wasn't talking about the aroma of perfume, Timothy, she was talking about the fragrance of Christ. Right, Diane?”
媽媽(笑):“我很確定Diane的老師不是在說香水的香味,Timothy,她說的是基督的馨香之氣,對吧,Diane?”

[Timothy looked puzzled...](很疑惑的樣子)
Diane (nodded): "She said Christians should fill the world with the love of Jesus. She said that's like a sweet-smelling fragrance."
Diane(點頭):“她說基督徒應該以基督的愛,裝滿世界,她說那就像聞起來很甜的香味.”

Timothy :"You mean like . . . ah . . . I still don't get it.”
Timothy:”妳意思是說,像….嗯….我還是不懂呀!“

Mom(explained ):"When we're helpful, kind to others, forgiving, loving-in other words, when we live the way Jesus wants us to-”
媽媽(解釋):“當我們樂於助人,對他人仁慈,願意原諒他人,愛人如己-也就是說,當我們過著基督希望我們過的生活樣式-”

Mom(explained ):”We become channels of His love to those around us.”
媽媽(解釋):“我們就能成為，基督之愛散播到我們生活周遭其他人的管道.”

Mom:"The Bible refers to that as the 'fragrance' of Christ-and that's a kind of 'perfume' even boys should wear. Okay?”
媽媽:“聖經中提到所謂基督的馨香之氣,即使是男生也可以穿戴喔,知道嗎?”

Timothy(agreed): "That kind is okay, I can try to always spread some of that.”
Timothy(同意):“那種的可以,我可以試著時常散播一些那樣的香氣喔!”

HOW ABOUT YOU?(那麼你呢?)
What kind of aroma are you spreading-at home, in your school, at the mall, or on the playground?
不論是在家裡,學校,購物中心,或是在遊戲的地方,你(妳) 所散播的是哪一種香味呢?

Are you spreading a "sweet-smelling fragrance" by what you do and say?
你(妳)的一言一行,是否都散發出“甜美的香味”呢?

Although some people may criticize and turn away when you witness for Jesus-
雖然當你為耶穌做見證時,有些人會批評及轉身離去-

Others may be led to Christ by the "fragrance" of your loving actions as well as the words you speak.
其他人也許會因為你有愛心的行為,及你所說的話所散播的香味,而被吸引來認識基督.
