Under the covers

護庇之下

BOOM! Seven-year-old Aaron sat up in bed. Rain spattered against the window, and lightning streaks made his room as bright as day. He could see his favorite teddy bear propped in a corner. BOOM! Another loud crash of thunder! Aaron burrowed under his covers, a pillow pressed over his ears.

（隆隆作響！）7歲的艾倫從床上爬了起來。雨水打在窗上，閃電乍現讓他的房間如白日一樣光亮。他可以看到最愛的泰迪熊擱在角落裡。隆隆聲!又是另一道具大的雷響! 艾倫鑽進被窩裡，用枕頭掩住雙耳。

From under the blankets, Aaron peeked toward the wall where the rosy glow of a night-light usually shone, but between flashes of lightning, only blackness filled the room. Cautiously, he poked the button of a little table lamp near his bed, but instead of warm, friendly light, there was nothing. Shivering, he buried himself even deeper in his bed.

在毯子底下，艾倫偷瞥一下牆壁，通常會有夜燈的微光照著，但現在除了雷電的閃光，整個房間都黑漆漆的。他小心翼翼地，摸索著床邊小燈的開關，但溫暖親切的燈光似乎都不再出現了。艾倫顫抖著，將自己深埋在被窩裡。

外面雨愈下愈大，聲音聽起來好像對著玻璃猛投足球一般。現在完全清醒了，艾倫懷疑自己是否膽敢跑到父母的房間。就在此時，他感到毯子上傳來輕柔的撫觸。他以壓低的聲音試探說，”是媽咪嗎?”

“我在這裡，蜜糖。”艾倫從毯子底下往外看，見到媽咪穿著粉紅色絨毛睡袍站在床邊。另一道閃電又擊打在房子上。媽媽安慰說:”很吵，對不對?”當她坐在床邊時，燈亮了。有媽媽的陪伴，還有熟悉的燈光回來了，艾倫再次得到了勇氣。媽媽問:”艾倫，你記得耶穌就在這裡嗎?”，”祂在我來之前就已經在這裡看顧著你，你知道祂掌控風和雨。你不用害怕，因為祂與我們同在。”

Aaron began to feel sleepy as he listened to the comforting words. His mother's hands closed around his, and he heard her saying, "Thank You, Jesus, for loving Aaron and especially for being here with him during the storm." Outside, the storm rumbled farther away while rain dripped quietly from the roof. Through almost-closed eyes, Aaron saw his mom turn the light off and tiptoe from his room.

艾倫聽著安慰的話之後，漸漸有了睡意。他母親的雙手貼近握著他，聽到她說”感謝祢，耶酥，感謝祢對愛倫的愛，特別在風雨中與他同在”。外面，暴風雨在遠處隆隆作響，雨水也靜悄悄地從屋頂上滑落。從睡眼惺忪的雙眼，他看到媽咪將關上燈，躡手躡腳離開了房間。

"Thank You, Jesus," whispered Aaron. "I'm so glad You're always here." He yawned, snuggled under his covers, and was soon asleep again.

 艾倫輕聲細語說，”感謝祢，耶穌，我很高興祢一直都在這裡”他打了一個呵欠，舒服地蜷伏在被窩下，很快又睡著了。

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Are you afraid during storms? Does the loud boom of thunder and the brilliant flash of lightning scare you? Does it sound as if the wind might knock trees down-perhaps right into your room? Yes, storms can cause damage, but you don't need to be afraid them. Remember that God has full control of the weather. He's like a parent who loves and watches over His children. Trust Him to take care of you.

那麼你呢?

在暴雨中會害怕嗎?這些巨大的雷響和疾馳的閃電是否嚇到了你呢?是不是聽起來那狂風就要擊倒樹幹-也許就要打到了你的房間?是的，暴風雨會帶來災害，但你不需要害怕。記得上帝完全掌控天氣。祂就像父親一樣關愛著祂的兒女。要相信祂能照顧著祢。
